Victor Mbaoma Set for Police FC Move in Rwanda

Posted : 03 July 2026

Remo Stars striker Victor Mbaoma is on the verge of completing a move to Rwandan Premier League side Police FC after the two parties reportedly reached an agreement.

The experienced forward is expected to return to Rwanda for a second spell following an impressive campaign with Nigeria Premier Football League champions Remo Stars. An official announcement from Police FC is anticipated in the coming days once the remaining formalities are completed.

Mbaoma played an important role in Remo Stars' attack during the 2025/26 NPFL season. His experience, movement and goalscoring ability helped the Ikenne-based club as they competed successfully throughout the campaign.

The proposed transfer will see the striker reunite with a league he already knows well. Mbaoma previously played for APR FC, one of Rwanda's most successful clubs, before returning to Nigeria to continue his career in the NPFL.

His familiarity with Rwandan football is expected to ease his transition at Police FC, who are strengthening their squad ahead of the new season. The club believes Mbaoma's experience at both domestic and continental level will add quality and leadership to its attacking options.

Over the years, Mbaoma has built a reputation as one of the NPFL's consistent forwards. His physical presence, intelligent positioning and ability to score important goals have made him a valuable asset for every club he has represented.

A successful move would also continue the growing trend of Nigerian players joining clubs in the Rwandan Premier League. The league has increasingly attracted experienced talent from across Africa as clubs look to improve their competitiveness in domestic and continental competitions.

For Remo Stars, Mbaoma's departure would create a vacancy in the attacking department as the club prepares for another busy campaign, including its participation in the CAF Champions League. The NPFL champions are expected to reinforce their squad during the transfer window to maintain their challenge on multiple fronts.

Police FC are expected to confirm the signing soon, bringing an end to speculation surrounding the striker's future and marking the beginning of his second chapter in Rwandan football.
