Posted : 05 November 2026

The UEFA Champions League delivered an exciting night of football on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, with nine matches producing impressive victories and unexpected results. Real Madrid, Manchester City and Arsenal secured important wins, while Liverpool suffered a 3-2 defeat against Fenerbahçe. However, the biggest talking point was Como’s remarkable 9-1 victory over Lens.

Real Madrid maintained their winning record in the competition after coming from behind to defeat AEK Athens 3-2 in Greece. Aboubakary Koita gave the home side an early lead before Jude Bellingham restored parity for the visitors. AEK regained the advantage through Stavros Pilios, but Kylian Mbappé brought Madrid level before Federico Valverde scored a dramatic stoppage-time winner.

Liverpool endured a disappointing evening in Istanbul, losing 3-2 to Fenerbahçe. Trey Nyoni initially put the English side ahead before Mason Greenwood equalised. Alexander Isak restored Liverpool’s advantage after the break, but Archie Brown quickly brought the Turkish hosts level. Vedat Muriqi then scored the decisive goal in the 79th minute to complete Fenerbahçe’s comeback.

Manchester City also claimed an important away victory, defeating RB Leipzig 3-2 in Germany. An own goal from Castello Lukeba gave City the lead before Ridle Baku equalised for Leipzig. Enzo Fernández restored the visitors’ advantage, but Antonio Nusa brought the German side level again. Erling Haaland eventually secured all three points for City with a 78th-minute goal.

Arsenal continued their strong European campaign with a 2-1 victory over Slavia Prague. Noni Madueke opened the scoring before Viktor Gyökeres extended the Gunners’ advantage. Slavia responded through Wiktor Nowak late in the match, but Arsenal managed to protect their lead and take all three points.

The most remarkable result came in France, where Como produced a stunning 9-1 demolition of Lens. Anastasios Douvikas led the Italian club’s attacking display with a hat-trick and an assist, while Nico Paz, Lucas da Cunha, Marc-Oliver Kempf, Mattia Liberali, Martin Baturina and Matteo Papaccioli also scored. Ruben Aguilar registered the only goal for Lens as Como celebrated an emphatic victory.

Porto also enjoyed a convincing night, recording a 4-1 win over Napoli. Jan Bednarek opened the scoring before Scott McTominay equalised for the Italian visitors. However, Porto took control after the break, with Gabri Veiga and Jakub Kiwior finding the net before Samu Aghehowa converted a penalty to complete the victory.

Borussia Dortmund secured a 2-1 home victory against Real Betis. Fabio Silva and Konstantinos Karetsas scored for the German side, while Aitor Ruibal briefly brought Betis back into the contest. Karetsas eventually delivered the winning goal in the 72nd minute to give Dortmund all three points.

Club Brugge claimed a 2-1 away victory over PSV Eindhoven. Nicolo Tresoldi gave the Belgian visitors the lead before Kodai Sano equalised for PSV. Carlos Forbs then scored the decisive goal to secure an important win for Brugge.

Viking completed the night's fixtures with a 4-1 victory over Sabah. The visitors initially took the lead through Mbina, but Viking responded with goals from Botheim, Tripić and Falchener to turn the contest around and secure a comfortable result.

Wednesday’s results provided plenty of excitement in the Champions League league phase, with Real Madrid, Manchester City and Arsenal strengthening their positions. Liverpool, meanwhile, will look to recover from their defeat, while Como’s extraordinary performance against Lens emerged as the standout result of the evening.
