Trabzonspor Line Up Noah Markmann as Fulham Push for Chibuike Nwaiwu

Trabzonspor have reportedly begun planning for the possible departure of Super Eagles defender Chibuike Nwaiwu by identifying Danish youngster Noah Markmann as a potential replacement. The move comes as Premier League club Fulham continue negotiations to sign the Nigerian centre-back during the summer transfer window.

Nwaiwu has become one of Trabzonspor's most valuable players since joining the Turkish side from Austrian club Wolfsberger AC in January. His impressive performances helped the club secure the Turkish Cup and qualify for European competition, attracting interest from several clubs across Europe.

Fulham have emerged as the leading contenders for the 22-year-old's signature after holding talks with Trabzonspor throughout the transfer window. Reports indicate the London club have already agreed personal terms with the Nigerian international but are still negotiating a transfer fee with the Turkish outfit.

Trabzonspor have rejected multiple offers from Fulham, including a bid worth around €28 million. The Turkish club is understood to be holding out for a fee between €30 million and €35 million before allowing one of its key defenders to leave.

With uncertainty surrounding Nwaiwu's future, Trabzonspor have turned their attention to FC Nordsjælland defender Noah Markmann. The 19-year-old is regarded as one of Denmark's brightest defensive prospects and has also attracted interest from Italian Serie A club Lazio.

Markmann is admired for his composure on the ball, strong physical presence, and ability to build attacks from the back. Trabzonspor believe those qualities make him a suitable long-term replacement should Nwaiwu complete a move to the Premier League. According to reports, the Danish defender is valued at around €7 million, a fee the Turkish club could comfortably afford if Nwaiwu is sold.

Despite the growing speculation, no agreement has yet been reached between Fulham and Trabzonspor. The structure of the transfer payment remains one of the key issues in negotiations, although both clubs are expected to continue discussions before the transfer window closes.

With more than a month remaining in the transfer window, Nwaiwu's future remains unresolved. However, Trabzonspor's pursuit of Markmann suggests the club is preparing for the possibility of losing one of its standout defenders as Fulham intensify their efforts to complete the deal.
