Tolu Arokodare Named in Belgian Pro League Team of the Season

Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare has been honored with a place in the 2024/25 Belgian Pro League Team of the Season, announced by the league on Wednesday. The talented forward was recognized for his exceptional performances throughout the campaign with Genk, solidifying his reputation as one of the top attackers in Belgium.

Arokodare’s inclusion in the league's prestigious Best XI follows an impressive tally of 21 goals, which saw him share the Golden Boot with Sint-Truidense’s Adriano Bertaccini. The 24-year-old also contributed six assists in 40 league appearances, helping Genk secure a strong position in the league standings.

The Nigerian forward’s remarkable season has not gone unnoticed, as his achievements earned him the 2025 Ebony Shoe, awarded to the best African player in the league. Arokodare joins an elite list of African players to win the prestigious accolade, becoming the second Nigerian to do so.
