Nigeria international Tochukwu Nnadi is expected to leave Olympique de Marseille at the end of the current season. The young midfielder arrived at the Orange Velodrome from Belgian side SV Zulte Waregem in February 2026 for a reported fee of €6 million. His transfer was initially approved by former manager Roberto De Zerbi; however, the Italian coach’s sudden departure has left Nnadi’s future in doubt.
Current Marseille manager Habib Beye has reportedly made it clear that Nnadi does not feature in his long-term tactical plans. Sources close to the club indicate that Beye is looking to reshape the squad as Marseille battles for a top-three finish in Ligue 1. The Super Eagles star has struggled to secure regular playing time since the coaching change occurred.
Statistics highlight the difficulty Nnadi has faced in establishing himself within the French top flight. He has managed only 26 minutes of competitive action across three substitute appearances since his high-profile move. His most significant involvement was a 24-minute stint against Toulouse in early March; since then, he has mostly remained an unused substitute.
Marseille currently sits in fourth place in the Ligue 1 standings with 49 points after 28 matches. They remain in a tight race with LOSC Lille and AS Monaco for a Champions League qualification spot. The instability at the club has made it difficult for Nnadi to adapt to the rigors of French football.
Several clubs are already monitoring the situation ahead of the summer transfer window. A return to SV Zulte Waregem is considered a strong possibility for the player to regain his confidence. Additionally, West Ham United and Werder Bremen have previously shown interest in the 22-year-old midfielder.
Nnadi was a key member of the Nigeria squad that secured a bronze medal at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. His current market value is estimated at €3 million, representing a significant drop from his winter purchase price. A move away from Marseille appears necessary for the midfielder to revive his international career and secure regular first-team football.
