Tico/Select Tournament Offers Rewards for All Teams Ahead of 2026 Pre-season

Organisers of the 2026 Tico/Select Pre-season Tournament have unveiled an attractive reward package for all participating teams as preparations gather pace for the competition scheduled for the last week of July.

The annual tournament will feature 10 teams drawn from different levels of Nigerian football, including four Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clubs, two Nigeria National League (NNL) sides, two Nationwide League One (NLO) teams and two football academies.

To support participating clubs, organisers announced that each team will receive 10 branded T-shirts for officials and three Select match balls. Teams that progress to the semi-finals will also be provided with jerseys for both the semi-final and final as part of the competition's participation benefits.

The eventual champions will be presented with a giant trophy and gold medals, while the runners-up will receive 25 silver medals.

Beyond the prizes, the tournament is expected to provide valuable competitive preparation ahead of the new football season.

Top-flight clubs will have the opportunity to fine-tune their squads, while lower-division teams and academies will gain crucial experience against stronger opposition.

Over the years, the Tico/Select Pre-season Tournament has grown into one of Nigeria's notable pre-season competitions, offering coaches the chance to assess players, improve match fitness and identify emerging talents.

Organisers said the full fixtures, venues and match schedule will be announced before the tournament kicks off in the last week of July.

The tournament is expected to once again serve as an important platform for clubs to prepare for the upcoming campaign while fostering player development and healthy competition across different tiers of Nigerian football.
