Three Nasarawa Amazons players named in NWFL Team of the Season

Three Nasarawa Amazons players have earned places in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Team of the Season following their outstanding performances during the 2025/26 campaign.

The recognition highlights the contributions of captain Igbokwe Joy, forward Ayatsea Hembafan, and defender Alani Jumoke, who played key roles in the club's impressive season.

Midfielder Igbokwe was the heartbeat of the team, combining leadership with consistent performances in the middle of the park. The Amazons captain controlled the tempo of matches with her vision, creativity, and relentless work rate while also inspiring her teammates on and off the pitch. Her influence extends beyond the club, where she also captains Nigeria's women's U-20 national team.

Hembafan's inclusion follows a brilliant campaign in which she established herself as one of the league's most dangerous attackers. Her intelligent movement, creativity, and clinical finishing made her a constant threat to opposition defences, with several decisive performances helping Nasarawa Amazons maintain a strong challenge throughout the season.

At the back, Alani Jumoke was rewarded for a consistently impressive season. The versatile defender stood out with her defensive solidity, aerial dominance, and ability to contribute in attack. Her overlapping runs, pace, and quality deliveries from wide positions added another dimension to the Amazons' play.
