Mighty Jets Int'l FC Male and Female teams to square up against Plateau United counterparts in state Federation Cup final

Posted : 31 March 2024

The glamour of fortune has found a resting place in the stables of Mighty Jets Int'l FC's first male team and the female team alike. This is as both teams are now on the threshold of glory with the State Federation Cup Final set to take centre stage.

The two teams are poised to take on their direct city rivals, Plateau United FC and Plateau Queens respectively. Mighty Jets Int'l FC ladies, popularly called Mighty Jets Mata, would go head-to-head once more against well-known opposition, Plateau Queens, with so many lessons derived from their previous encounters and hoping to go one step better than their rivals this time.

For Coach Najib Mabo's boys, they are fully aware that their job is well cut out for them but would hope to go full throttle against Coach Mbwas Mangut's team, hoping to pounce on their weaknesses as witnessed in recent games.

While Mighty Jets Int'l FC's male team defeated their junior team 2-1, Plateau United secured their spot in the final courtesy of a 1-0 victory against Ben Akuwegbu FC in the semi-final matchup.

Both male teams have laid their hands on the State Federation Cup title several times in the past; however, only Plateau United succeeded in bringing home the title back in 1999 while Mighty Jets Int'l FC are yet to do so, despite reaching the final 9 times.

Furthermore, both teams have so far qualified to represent Plateau State at the national level, meaning that they each stand the chance to win it.

Mighty Jets Mata will be taking on Plateau Queens at exactly 2 pm at the New Jos Stadium, Zaria Road, while Mighty Jets Int'l FC's first team game is scheduled to take shape at 4 pm in the same venue.

Given the historic nature of these fixtures over the years, fans of both clubs are up for an entertaining and breath-taking game of football, ones that would most likely be deserving of their rightful place in the record books of local derbies whenever the story of Nigerian football is being told.
