Super Eagles star changes agent amid €20m transfer interest

Posted : 18 April 2025

Raphael Onyedika, one of Nigeria's rising football talents, has made a strategic change in his representation ahead of a possible big-money transfer this summer. The midfielder, currently playing for Club Brugge, has drawn attention from major European clubs such as Bayern Munich and Manchester City, who are believed to be tracking his progress closely.

The 23-year-old has built a solid reputation through standout performances in both the Belgian top flight and the UEFA Champions League. With growing interest in his services, many expect him to part ways with Club Brugge when the current season concludes.

Originally signed from Danish club FC Midtjylland in 2022 for a reported €10 million, Onyedika’s value has climbed significantly. According to Transfermarkt, his market worth now exceeds €20 million. In preparation for his next career step, the Nigerian international has signed with CAA Stellar, a leading player agency in Europe, as reported by Voetbalkrant.

This change suggests that Onyedika is serious about securing a move to a top-tier club. Insiders say the midfielder is preparing for a major transfer, and while Club Brugge are reportedly open to letting him go, they are expected to demand a fee higher than his current valuation. A bid from Galatasaray last summer fell short of expectations, but the situation appears more favorable this time around.

Onyedika’s exploits in Europe have not gone unnoticed. His goal against Manchester City in the Champions League was particularly eye-catching and has helped attract interest from clubs like AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund, and FC Porto. Meanwhile, Club Brugge is laying the groundwork for his potential departure, considering players such as Ardon Jashari and Ludovit Reis as possible successors.

Despite the growing buzz around his future, Onyedika has kept a low profile in public comments. Speaking earlier this year, he expressed satisfaction with his current club, stating that he is focused on giving his best and helping Brugge achieve their goals for the season.

Since joining the Belgian side, Onyedika has achieved significant milestones, including winning the league title and earning a call-up to the Nigerian national team. He opened his goal account for the Super Eagles in a World Cup qualifying match against Benin Republic and continues to be a vital figure for both club and country.
