Super Eagles goalkeeper Amas Obasogie closes in on Bendel Insurance return

Super Eagles goalkeeper Amas Obasogie is close to completing a return to Nigeria Premier Football League side Bendel Insurance as negotiations between both parties enter the final stages.

The Benin City club is understood to be in advanced discussions with the goalkeeper, with talks progressing positively ahead of the 2026/27 NPFL campaign. While the transfer has not yet been officially completed, there is growing confidence that an agreement will be reached.

Obasogie previously enjoyed a successful spell with Bendel Insurance, where he established himself as one of the league's most reliable goalkeepers. His performances earned him recognition at national level and helped raise his profile within Nigerian football.

The proposed reunion is expected to strengthen Bendel Insurance's goalkeeping department as the club continues to build its squad for the new season. The technical team views the experienced shot-stopper as an important addition capable of bringing leadership, consistency and valuable top-flight experience.
