Stormer FC Defeat Rice Boys in Thrilling Six-Goal Encounter

Stormer FC Head Coach Fawehinmi Olanrewaju has commended his team for their impressive performance in securing maximum points at home against Abakaliki FC, winning 4-2 in a thrilling encounter.

The Nigeria National League (NNL) Conference C Week 9 match was a six-goal spectacle, highlighting the attacking strength of both teams in Abeokuta.

In a post-match interview, Coach Olanrewaju expressed his delight, saying, “Beating a strong side like Abakaliki FC 4-2 is a great achievement for my players. Although we conceded two soft goals, which I believe our goalkeeper could have handled better, our second-half performance was superior to the first. That gave us the edge to capitalize on opportunities and secure the maximum points.”

With this win, Stormer FC currently sits fourth on the league table. As the team takes a brief break to prepare for the second round, Coach Olanrewaju outlined his ambitions: “Our target is to finish the league in first position, and we believe it’s achievable with dedication and hard work. Our next match against Abakaliki FC, especially away from home, will be tough, but we’ll give our best to secure points and make our journey remarkable.”

The coach also acknowledged the fans and supporters, praising them for their unwavering support. “We appreciate their prayers and backing, and we assure them we will return stronger in the second round,” he said.

Additionally, Coach Olanrewaju expressed gratitude to the team management for their support, which he credited as instrumental in today’s success.
