Stephen Odey included in Danish Superliga Team of the Round

Stephen Odey, a former Super Eagles invitee, earned a spot in the Danish Superliga Team of the Round after his outstanding performance in Randers' 3-1 victory over Aarhus GF on May 11. His contributions were key in helping Randers set a new club record for the most goals scored in a single Superliga season.


Odey, who has previously played for Mountain of Fire, registered both a goal and an assist in the match, which helped Randers surpass their previous goal record. Their 55 goals this season broke the club's old record of 53 goals set in the 2019-2020 campaign.


Randers’ offensive display in the match was notable, as they became one of the top-scoring teams in the 2024-2025 Superliga, with only FC Midtjylland having scored more goals. Their performance against Aarhus GF also contributed to their record-breaking achievement.


In addition to the club's overall goal tally, Randers also set a new record for goals scored in the Championship round, with 16 goals. This was a significant milestone for the team, demonstrating their attacking strength throughout the season.


With an average of 1.833 goals per match this term, Randers has seen their highest scoring rate in a single Superliga season. This reflects their impressive offensive capabilities, particularly with Odey playing a crucial role in some of their key moments.


However, Odey has faced challenges with consistency this season, leading to limited appearances in the starting lineup. Despite his talent, he has started only eight matches out of a possible thirty in the current season.


Odey’s breakthrough moment this season came in Randers' match against AGF, where he scored his first goal after a 21-match goal drought in the league. His hat-trick performance in the Oddset Cup against B1913 Odense, where Randers won 10-0, remains his most memorable display of the season.
