Asaba has been confirmed as the host city for the grand finale of the 2026 President Federation Cup, with the Nigeria Football Federation also unveiling the fixtures for this year’s men’s and women’s national knockout competition.
The draw ceremony, held at the NFF Secretariat in Abuja, set the stage for another exciting edition of Nigeria’s oldest domestic football tournament, as teams across the country now know their first-round opponents.
Speaking during the draw, NFF General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi, reaffirmed the federation’s commitment to fairness and transparency throughout the competition. He explained that unlike some previous editions, no club was granted automatic passage into the next round, ensuring that every participating team begins from the same stage.
Sanusi stressed that all matches would be played strictly on a knockout basis, maintaining the long-standing tradition of the competition where every fixture carries high stakes.
Defending champions Kwara United were seeded number one in the men’s category, while 2025 finalists Abakaliki FC occupied the final spot at number 64 in the draw.
The Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State, will host the final matches of both the men’s and women’s competitions later in the year.
