Northampton Town has officially released its list of retained and released players following the end of the 2024-2025 season in EFL League One.
Among those confirmed to be leaving the club are three Nigerian-descent defenders, with their contracts set to expire on June 30, 2025.
Timothy Eyoma, a product of the Tottenham Hotspur academy, will see his contract with the club end on July 1. The versatile defender is set to begin a new chapter in his career next season. Eyoma, who was part of England's U17 World Cup-winning squad in 2017, joined Northampton Town in November 2024 after his contract with Lincoln City came to an end.
Over the course of his time at Northampton, Eyoma made 27 appearances, scoring one goal across all competitions. He had previously made a single appearance for Tottenham Hotspur in the 2019 FA Cup against Tranmere Rovers, before permanently leaving the club in 2021.
Also leaving Northampton will be Akin Odimayo, a central defender, and Ali Koiki, a left-back. Both players will depart when their contracts expire at the end of June to explore new opportunities. Odimayo joined Northampton in July 2022 after stints with Reading, Hungerford Town, Waterford, and Swindon Town.
Koiki, who moved to Northampton in 2021, previously played for Crystal Palace, Burnley, Swindon Town, and Bristol Rovers. During his time at Northampton, Odimayo provided three assists in 98 matches, while Koiki played 93 matches and contributed six goals (two goals and four assists).
The departure of these three players marks a significant change for Northampton Town as they look to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
