Sports Zone Connect Set for Novelty Football Match in Lagos

AfricaSport is set to bring members of the sports community together for Sports Zone Connect, a novelty football event scheduled for Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Herel Play in Ikoyi, Lagos.

The event will begin at 2:00 pm and is built around the theme, “A Game. A Connection. A Community.” It is designed to combine football with networking, music, entertainment, giveaways and social interaction.

The novelty match will feature three teams led by prominent figures in the sports and media space. Charles Anazodo will captain Team Anazodo, Segun Agbede will lead Team Eagle, while Femi Farawe will captain Team Farawe.

The three captains are prominently featured on the official event artwork, with each team represented by its own playing kit and identity. The format is expected to provide a relaxed and entertaining football experience while creating opportunities for participants and guests to connect outside the usual professional setting.

Sports Zone Connect goes beyond the football match itself. Music, networking, giveaways and other entertainment activities are scheduled as part of the programme, giving attendees several ways to engage throughout the event.
