Solution FC, owned by the Anambra Government, secured their first away point of the 2025/2026 Nigeria National League (NNL) season with a 1-1 draw against Sporting Lagos FC.
Coach Willy Udube made two changes to the side that defeated Rovers FC, with Olalekan Olarenwaju and Stanley Ekwo starting in place of Timileyin Babalola and Chukwuemeka Okeke.
Sporting Lagos took an early lead through a Lasisi Alabi penalty in the 5th minute, awarded after Ayomide Adebayo was judged to have handled the ball inside the box.
Solution FC’s Moses Amanekwe had two excellent chances to equalize before halftime but was denied by Sporting Lagos goalkeeper Joseph Okonkwo.
Valentine Ugwu restored parity for Solution FC in the 50th minute, capitalizing on a defensive mistake to score a deserved equalizer.
Both teams had opportunities to win the game, with Solution FC goalkeeper Matthias Malech making a crucial save to deny Aliyu Baba, while Okonkwo denied substitute Chukwuemeka Okeke.
Sporting Lagos are expected in Awka on January 31, 2026, for the reverse fixture, which will also open the second half of the ongoing season.
