Smart City FC displayed grit and discipline on Match Day 3 of the 2025/2026 Nigeria National League (NNL) season as they battled Beyond Limits FC to a well-deserved draw in Ikenne.
Captain and defensive leader Tunde Ajedokun was at the heart of the team’s impressive performance.
Speaking after the encounter, the long-serving skipper credited the result to the squad’s renewed unity and fighting spirit.
“It was a good fight from us and a well-deserved result. We came with the intention of winning, but securing a point against a strong side like Beyond Limits is commendable,” Ajedokun said.
He also emphasized the importance of accumulating early points in a demanding season, stressing that Smart City remains fully focused on their primary goal.
“The league will be long and tough, so every point matters. We are treating every match as a final because our major aim is to secure promotion to the NPFL.”
Smart City currently sit fourth on the league table after three matches and will now turn their attention to a crucial home fixture against Sunshine FC this weekend at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.
With momentum building and team confidence evident, Smart City will hope to capitalize on this away draw and continue their push toward the top of the standings.
