Shooting Stars Unveil Chowdeck and BOVAS as New Sponsors

Posted : 27 August 2026

Shooting Stars Sports Club have unveiled Chowdeck and BOVAS as new sponsors ahead of the 2026/27 season. The announcement was made by club chairman Taiwo Lekan Salami during a press conference in Ibadan on Wednesday.

Chowdeck will serve as the Oluyole Warriors' principal partner, while BOVAS will appear as the club's sleeve sponsor. The partnerships come as Shooting Stars prepare for campaigns in the Nigeria Premier Football League and CAF Confederation Cup.

Salami said the new commercial agreements are part of the club's plans to build a stronger team. He also called on supporters to remain behind the players as the club targets an improved campaign.

"We are determined to build a stronger and more competitive Shooting Stars team ahead of the new season," Salami said. He added that the club wants to improve on last season's performance and compete effectively on domestic and continental fronts.

Chowdeck chief executive officer Femi Aluko welcomed the partnership and highlighted his personal connection with the club. He said his father is a long-time Shooting Stars supporter and described the agreement as an intersection between football and technology.

Aluko also said Chowdeck intends to be active throughout the partnership. He expressed confidence that the company and the club can achieve their objectives together while also creating a wider impact in Ibadan.

BOVAS Group also expressed its excitement about joining the club's commercial structure. Head of Engineering and Projects Tolulope Ayediran said the partnership was a natural fit because both BOVAS and Shooting Stars have strong connections with Ibadan.

Ayediran confirmed that the BOVAS partnership is structured as a five-year agreement. He said the company expects to increase its participation, visibility and impact through its relationship with the club.

The new sponsorships arrive as Shooting Stars prepare to open their NPFL campaign against Inter Lagos. The match is scheduled for Friday, August 28, at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan, with the NPFL confirming the fixture as the opening game of the 2026/27 season.

The Oluyole Warriors will also represent Nigeria in the CAF Confederation Cup. They are scheduled to face Tunisia's CS Sfaxien in the first leg of their preliminary-round tie in September, giving the club another opportunity to compete on the continental stage.

Shooting Stars will therefore begin the new season with greater commercial backing and significant sporting targets. The club will hope the new partnerships provide additional support as it pursues stronger results in the NPFL and continental competition.
