Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan has once again made history, this time in matchday ticketing, after generating unprecedented revenue in their opening 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) fixture.
In Sunday’s Match Day 1 clash against Bayelsa United at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, the Oluyole Warriors recorded a record-breaking ₦4.8 million from gate takings, surpassing the previous high of ₦2.2 million set last season.
This milestone reflects the visionary leadership of the new club chairman, Taiwo Lekan-Salami, and the strategic efforts of Chief Operating Officer Bunmi Fadayomi. Both executives have worked diligently to prevent leakages in the ticketing system while ensuring transparency and accountability, boosting revenue for the Oyo State Government.
Credit also goes to the passionate fans, football lovers, stakeholders, media houses, security agencies, and the entire Ibadan football community, whose massive turnout inspired the players and made this achievement possible.
With this accomplishment, Shooting Stars SC has set a new benchmark for matchday operations in Nigerian football, reaffirming its commitment to raising standards both on and off the pitch.
