After enduring a difficult season marked by inconsistency and a late collapse, Shooting Stars SC of Ibadan have taken decisive steps ahead of the 2025/2026 NPFL season with a complete overhaul of their squad and coaching crew.
The Oluyole Warriors will enter the new campaign with an entirely fresh technical setup led by former Ikorodu City FC manager Aweroro, who has been tasked with restoring stability and competitiveness.
Recognising the importance of early preparation, Shooting Stars were among the first clubs to resume pre-season training in late June 2025, following their 8th-place finish in the 2024/2025 campaign. Their rebuild is focused on both immediate impact and long-term development.
While their chances of winning the league remain modest during this transition period, the club is combining short-term improvements—through tactical refinement and technical support—with long-term ambitions, including infrastructure growth and strategic leadership.
The Warriors have also strengthened their squad with the signing of Chidiebere Nnachi, a talented 22-year-old winger who joins from Enyimba International, bringing youthful energy and creativity to their attack.
With a rating of 7/10, Shooting Stars’ prospects for the upcoming season show promise as they balance rebuilding with competitiveness.
