2025/2026 NPFL Matchday 15: Shooting Stars Host Depleted El-Kanemi Warriors in Ibadan

Shooting Stars SC of Ibadan is set to face an injury-ravaged El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri in the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 15.

The Oluyole Warriors return to Ibadan following a disappointing performance against Kwara United FC in Matchday 14.

For the important fixture at Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, El-Kanemi Warriors confirmed that Mustapha Lawal, Sodiq Ibrahim, Ganiyu Wasiu, and Gali Falke are doubtful for the clash. The quartet is expected to undergo late fitness tests after sustaining minor knocks in El-Kanemi’s previous matches.

Meanwhile, forward Joshua Akpan has regained full fitness ahead of the encounter. Akpan’s return is a major boost for coach Nurudeen Aweroro’s side, who will be seeking to end their four-game winless streak.

The match will take place at Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, on Sunday.

Shooting Stars thrashed El-Kanemi Warriors 3–0 in their previous meeting in Ibadan last season, with Samuel Ayanrinde, Mustapha Adams, and Aliyu Abubakar finding the back of the net.
