Niger Tornadoes forward Ismail Sarki delivered a standout performance in a pulsating six-goal encounter on Match Day 5 of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, as his side defeated Ikorodu City FC 4-2 to end their unbeaten run.
The clash at the Bako Kontagora Stadium got off to a blistering start, with Sarki breaking the deadlock inside the opening two minutes to hand the hosts an early advantage. The winger later turned provider with a fine assist, capping off a brilliant all-round display that guided the Ikon Allah Boys to victory.
For his decisive contributions, the former Bendel Insurance and Enyimba FC player was named Man of the Match, receiving the award from the club’s top administrator shortly after full-time — a recognition that further boosts his confidence heading into future fixtures.
Sarki has now tallied two goals and one assist in his first five appearances of the campaign, underlining his importance as a key attacking threat for Tornadoes.
The match was overseen by referee Sani Mohammed, supported by assistants Adamu Mundashir, Zachi Mohammed, Umar Sanusi Idris, and Jamilu Hamisu, and earned praise for its smooth and fair officiating.
