Rovers Football Club have opened their doors to aspiring footballers as the club begins preparations for the 2026/27 season with a trial and screening exercise in Calabar, Cross River State.
The talent-identification programme is designed to give ambitious and promising players an opportunity to showcase their abilities and compete for places in the club’s squad for the new campaign.
The screening exercise is scheduled to take place today, Thursday, August 20, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. at the U. J. Esuene Stadium, Calabar.
According to the club, the exercise is open to footballers based both in Nigeria and abroad, providing an opportunity for players with the required talent and ambition to catch the attention of the technical team.
Prospective participants have been advised to arrive at the venue early and come fully prepared for the assessment, with players expected to demonstrate their technical, physical and tactical qualities.
Rovers FC said the exercise forms part of its preparations for the demands of the 2026/27 season and urged talented footballers to take advantage of the opportunity to pursue a place within the club.
The club believes the screening will help strengthen its squad with quality players capable of contributing to its ambitions in the coming season.
