Romano anticipates interest from Saudi Arabia, Chelsea, and Arsenal

Posted : 24 January 2024

Transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano has indicated that Victor Osimhen, the Super Eagles forward, is likely to depart Napoli at the end of the season. Despite recently signing a new contract, Osimhen's future with Napoli has been uncertain since last summer when he garnered interest from major European clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal. Even Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal attempted to sign him during that period.

Despite the recent contract extension, the uncertainty surrounding Osimhen's future persists. The 25-year-old forward has suggested that he has figured out the next step to take in his career, fueling speculation about a potential move.

Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel via Football Transfers, shared insights into Osimhen's future. According to Romano, Osimhen is set to leave Napoli at the end of the season. The Nigerian striker believes that his successful tenure at Napoli, including winning the Scudetto and scoring numerous goals, has come to an end. Romano emphasizes that Osimhen's priority is to complete the current season with Napoli and explore new opportunities in the summer.

While there is no indication of a January move, Romano suggests that Osimhen is likely to attract interest from Saudi clubs, Chelsea, and Arsenal in the summer transfer window. The striker's recent statement about being available on the market signals his intention to seek a new experience.

Napoli, currently in the 9th position in the league, may not defend their league title. However, they hope Osimhen's contributions will help them finish the season strongly and secure qualification for the Champions League, sitting three points adrift of the last qualifying spot occupied by Fiorentina.
