Robbie Ure Completes Sevilla Move After Breakthrough Season in Sweden

Sevilla have completed the signing of Scottish striker Robbie Ure from Swedish side IK Sirius, securing one of Europe's emerging young forwards after his impressive run of form in the Allsvenskan. The transfer is worth an initial €6.5 million (£5.5 million), with a further €2.5 million (£2.1 million) available through performance-related bonuses.

The 22-year-old has agreed a five-year contract with the Spanish club after completing his medical. Sevilla see Ure as an important addition to their attacking options, particularly after his prolific performances helped Sirius establish themselves at the top of the Swedish league.

Ure has been one of the standout players in Sweden this season. He has scored 20 goals and supplied three assists in 20 appearances across all competitions, while his 15 league goals have played a major role in Sirius' title challenge.

His overall record since joining Sirius in March 2025 has also been impressive, with 31 goals and seven assists in 50 appearances. His rapid development has attracted interest from clubs around Europe, with Sevilla ultimately winning the race for his signature.

The move represents a major step forward for Ure, who began his career in the Rangers academy. He made three first-team appearances for the Scottish club before moving to Anderlecht in 2023, where opportunities at senior level were limited.

His career changed significantly after arriving in Sweden. Regular first-team football at Sirius allowed him to develop into one of the most productive strikers in the Allsvenskan, putting him on the radar of several clubs in Europe's bigger leagues.

Sevilla have also highlighted the significance of Ure becoming only the third Scottish-born player to appear for the club in an official competition, following Ted McMinn and Duncan McVean Thomson. The club also recognised Scottish figures from its history, including former manager Jock Wallace and first president Edward Farquharson Johnston.

Ure remains eligible to represent Scotland or Ukraine at senior international level. The former Scotland Under-19 international has previously indicated that his preference is to wait for an opportunity with Scotland as he continues his development.

His move to La Liga now gives him a major platform to establish himself at the highest level. After transforming his career in Sweden, Ure will look to carry his goalscoring form into Spanish football and justify Sevilla's investment.
