Rivers United's Technical Adviser, Stanley Eguma, provided insights into the team's recent defeat against Dream FC, where the Pride of Rivers suffered a 2-1 loss in their second group match of the CAF Confederation Cup held in Kumasi.
Expressing his dissatisfaction, Coach Stanley Eguma lamented the team's missed opportunities but conveyed determination to address the mistakes and return stronger for the upcoming match. He highlighted the opponent's efficiency in converting chances, especially in the first half, while acknowledging Rivers United's failure to capitalize on numerous opportunities in the second half as their primary downfall.
Eguma emphasized the need to rectify these shortcomings, stating, "That was our greatest undoing today, and I think we have to go back and work on those areas and come back stronger in the next game."
In other Sunday fixtures, Club Africain claimed the top spot in Group C with six points from two games, securing a 3-1 victory against Academica do Lobito of Angola. As a result, Rivers United dropped to second place with three points from the same number of matches. Looking ahead, Rivers United is set to face Club Africain of Tunisia in the next match of the competition.
