Rivers United Resume Pre-Season Under Finidi George

Rivers United have officially commenced preparations for the 2026/27 football season after holding their first pre-season training session in Port Harcourt.

The Nigeria Premier Football League side returned to action on Monday, June 29, at the Garden City Sports Centre inside the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium. Players reported for duty as the coaching staff began laying the foundation for what promises to be a demanding campaign.

Technical Manager Finidi George supervised the opening training session alongside members of his backroom staff. The former Super Eagles coach focused on assessing the fitness levels of his squad as preparations began for domestic and continental competitions.
