Rivers United returned to the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League standings after securing a vital 1-0 victory against Plateau United. The relegation battle remains incredibly tight. Only one point separates 16th-placed Kwara United from 19th-placed Remo Stars. With four teams set to go down, every point has become crucial for the clubs currently sitting on 40 points.
