The curtain will fall on the second edition of the Fidelis Ilechukwu Peace and Unity Football Competition as Rising Stars FC and BSB Football Club go head-to-head for the ultimate prize in a much-anticipated final.
The decisive encounter is scheduled to take place at the Baptist Pitch in the Nasarawa Area of Jos, Plateau State, with kickoff set for 3:30 PM.
The tournament, which began with 16 teams, has seen weeks of intense grassroots competition, culminating in this exciting final.
This championship is the brainchild of Fidelis Ilechukwu, the current Technical Adviser of NPFL side Rangers International and Assistant Coach of Nigeria’s senior national team, the Super Eagles. Ilechukwu, who formerly served as Head Coach of Plateau United FC, launched the competition during his time in Jos as a way of giving back to the community that warmly welcomed him.
The final promises to be an exciting contest. After the match, medals and souvenirs will be presented to teams, individual players, coaches, and match officials in recognition of their dedication and contributions throughout the tournament.
The Fidelis Ilechukwu Peace and Unity Football Competition continues to serve as a vital platform for discovering talent and fostering peace, unity, and community development through sport in Plateau State and beyond.
