Nottingham Forest chiefs are facing a critical choice regarding the future of Taiwo Awoniyi ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window. The 28-year-old forward has entered the final year of his current contract. This unresolved situation has sparked heavy speculation about a potential exit from the City Ground.

The Super Eagles striker recently reminded everyone of his immense quality during a stellar performance against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Awoniyi scored two goals and won a crucial penalty to guide manager Vítor Pereira’s side to a dominant 3-1 victory. That spectacular display earned him the Man of the Match award and helped seal Premier League survival for the Tricky Trees.

This memorable fixture also marked a historic personal landmark for the Nigerian international. It was Awoniyi's 100th appearance in a Nottingham Forest shirt since his high-profile transfer from German Bundesliga outfit Union Berlin in 2022.
