Remo Stars are better offensively, says Shooting Stars SC Coach

Shooting Stars SC Technical Adviser, Gbenga Ogunbote, has said that his team lacked a good defensive style to contain the ruthless Remo Stars strikers.

Recall that Shooting Stars SC was soundly beaten 3-0 by Remo Stars in the first all-southwest derby played at Ikenne Stadium.

Ogunbote, however, stated that careless defending as well as poor finishing were responsible for the 3-0 trouncing on Match Day 6 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

In his post-match review, Ogunbote said that although his team failed to get on the scoresheet, the team's assessment was average.

"The game has been played, won, and lost, we take the positives from it.

"I think we had some careless moments, the boys didn't play badly, but we were unable to defend well enough to at least secure a point," said Ogunbote.

Regarding the next home game against Niger Tornadoes, the Oracle, as he's fondly called, expressed the readiness of the team to get it right in the Matchday 7 fixture on Sunday at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex.

"We will go back and prepare for the game. As you can see, the challenge we had against Remo Stars was the final touch; we've been working on it and will continue to work on it until perfection is achieved," he stated.
