Real Madrid Open Talks With RB Leipzig for Rising Star Yan Diomande

Real Madrid have opened negotiations with RB Leipzig over a potential transfer for highly rated Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande, although discussions between the clubs are still ongoing and no agreement has been completed. A source at the Bundesliga club confirmed the talks while dismissing reports suggesting that a deal had already been sealed.

The 19-year-old has emerged as one of Europe's most sought-after young talents following an outstanding breakthrough season and impressive performances for Ivory Coast at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. His rapid rise has attracted interest from several of the continent's biggest clubs.

Paris Saint-Germain were among the first clubs to pursue Diomande earlier this summer, but the French champions reportedly withdrew from negotiations over concerns about Leipzig's valuation. Liverpool also explored a move for the winger but were unable to convince the German club after an offer was turned down.

RB Leipzig have consistently maintained a firm stance over the player's future. Supervisory board chairman Oliver Mintzlaff previously insisted Diomande was not available for transfer regardless of the size of any bid. However, recent reports indicate the Bundesliga side could demand a fee exceeding €120 million if they decide to part with the youngster.

Born in Abidjan, Diomande briefly played for Spanish side Leganés in 2025, making his La Liga debut against Real Madrid before completing a move to Leipzig ahead of the 2025-26 campaign. He quickly established himself as one of the Bundesliga's standout attackers, finishing the season with 12 league goals and eight assists.

With negotiations continuing, Real Madrid remain determined to strengthen their attack with one of football's brightest emerging talents, although both clubs still have work to do before any transfer can be finalized.
