Real Madrid Faces Injury Concerns Ahead of Title Run-In

Real Madrid is facing injury concerns ahead of the final stretch of their La Liga campaign, with forward Vinicius Jr. and defender Lucas Vazquez both sidelined after picking up injuries in Sunday’s 4-3 loss to Barcelona.

 

Vinicius, who has been in excellent form this season with 11 goals and seven assists, is dealing with a left ankle sprain, while Vazquez has sustained a thigh muscle injury. The club confirmed the news on Monday, though no timeline for their return has been provided.

 

The injuries come at a critical time for Real Madrid, who are now seven points behind leaders Barcelona in the La Liga title race, with just three matches remaining.

 

The defeat to Barcelona significantly impacted their hopes of reclaiming the league title this season, and now the team faces the challenge of finishing strong without key players like Vinicius and Vazquez.

 

Additionally, several other first-team players are already sidelined, including Daniel Carvajal, Eder Militao, Eduardo Camavinga, Antonio Rudiger, Ferland Mendy, and David Alaba.

 

Real Madrid’s upcoming schedule includes a crucial match against Mallorca on Wednesday, as they look to secure vital points in their remaining league fixtures. Despite the injuries, the club also has the Club World Cup on the horizon next month, adding further pressure to an already depleted squad as they aim to finish the season strong.
