Rangers, Inter Lagos and Abia Warriors Secure Away Wins in NPFL Week 4

The 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) produced another eventful round of fixtures as Rangers International, Inter Lagos and Abia Warriors secured important away victories on Matchday 4. Defending champions Rangers returned to winning ways with a 4-2 victory over Kun Khalifat, while Enyimba suffered another defeat.

Inter Lagos recorded one of the weekend's biggest results by beating nine-time champions Enyimba 1-0 at the Enyimba Stadium in Aba. Ezekiel Moses scored the only goal in the 18th minute after a defensive mix-up between Enyimba goalkeeper Kelvin Ogunga and defender Peculiar Iheme.

The result gave Inter Lagos their first-ever victory in the NPFL. It also left Enyimba as the only team without a point after four matches, with the Aba club facing another home fixture against Sporting Lagos on Wednesday.

Rangers produced an impressive response to their earlier results by defeating Kun Khalifat FC 4-2 in the Oriental derby. Preye Seikorowei, Ayuba Umar, Temitope Folarin and Waheed Adebayo scored for the defending champions, while Chimobi Igwilo netted twice for the hosts.

The victory moved Rangers into the leading group with seven points from four matches. Their next league fixture is against Ranchers Bees on Wednesday, September 23.

Doma United remained at the top of the standings despite suffering their first defeat of the campaign. Kano Pillars defeated the early leaders 4-1 at the Sani Abacha Stadium, with Abdullahi Musa, Rabiu Ali, Ahmed Musa and Nasiru Salihu scoring for the hosts.

Doma United still lead with nine points from four matches. Kano Pillars moved onto seven points, joining Rangers, Rivers United and Plateau United among the teams near the top of the table.

Abia Warriors also secured their first win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Sporting Lagos at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena. Ikoi Etta broke the deadlock in the 88th minute before Emeka Obioma added a second goal in stoppage time.

Plateau United strengthened their position with a 3-1 home victory over Shooting Stars. Jibrin Ibrahim, Seiyefa Jackson and Gideon Monday scored for the Jos side after Shooting Stars had taken an early lead.

Elsewhere, Warri Wolves defeated Kwara United 1-0, while Katsina United edged Niger Tornadoes by the same scoreline. Nasarawa United and Rivers United played out a 1-1 draw in Lafia.

The Matchday 4 results leave Doma United top on nine points, followed by Barau FC on eight. Kano Pillars, Rivers United, Rangers and Plateau United are all on seven points, while Enyimba remain bottom without a point.
