Rancher Bees Sign Isa Ndala After Kano Pillars Move Falls Through

Rancher Bees FC have completed the signing of midfielder Isa Ndala after his proposed return to Kano Pillars failed to materialise, ending speculation over the experienced player's next destination ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Ndala recently became a free agent following spells with Kano Pillars, Plateau United and Wikki Tourists. He was among 11 players invited by Kano Pillars to train under newly appointed Technical Adviser Daniel Ogunmodede as the club assessed potential additions for the new Nigeria Premier Football League campaign.

The midfielder participated in several training sessions during the evaluation period and was reportedly among the players being considered for permanent contracts as Kano Pillars continued to reshape their squad.

According to sources close to the negotiations, Kano Pillars offered Ndala a competitive contract package that included accommodation and welfare benefits. Both parties were reportedly expected to finalise the agreement after Thursday's final training session.

However, the transfer took an unexpected turn before the deal could be completed.

Reports indicated that Kano Pillars officials were unable to reach the midfielder after he informed the club that he was travelling to Bichi to visit a sick relative and would return later in the day. His phone later became unreachable despite repeated attempts by club officials to contact him.

Hours later, Rancher Bees officially announced Ndala as their newest signing, bringing an end to his brief stay with Kano Pillars during the club's pre-season preparations.

Neither Ndala nor either club has publicly explained the circumstances surrounding the collapsed move. The transfer has nevertheless attracted significant attention among supporters, particularly because of the midfielder's previous association with Kano Pillars.

The development serves as another reminder of the unpredictable nature of the transfer market, where negotiations can change rapidly before agreements are formally completed. While professional footballers have the freedom to choose the clubs that best align with their careers, clear communication throughout the negotiation process remains important in maintaining strong professional relationships between players and clubs.
