PSG Face Man City, Barcelona and Aston Villa in Tough Champions League Draw

Defending champions Paris Saint-Germain have been handed one of the toughest schedules in the 2026/27 Champions League league phase, with clashes against Manchester City, Barcelona and Aston Villa. The French champions will host Barcelona and Aston Villa, while travelling to Manchester City as they begin their bid for a third successive European title.

Premier League champions Arsenal also face a demanding campaign, with Real Madrid visiting the Emirates Stadium and a trip to Bayern Munich among their eight fixtures. Mikel Arteta’s side will additionally meet Borussia Dortmund, Real Betis, Lille, Napoli, Sabah and Slavia Prague.

Manchester City will welcome PSG to the Etihad and travel to Barcelona, providing a reunion with former midfielder Rodri, who joined the Catalan club during the summer. City will also face Sporting CP, Porto, Napoli, RB Leipzig, AEK Athens and Lens.

Aston Villa, returning to the competition after a season away, have also been handed major tests against PSG and Barcelona. Unai Emery’s side will host PSG and Borussia Dortmund, while their other opponents are Club Brugge, Fenerbahce, Galatasaray, Viking and Slavia Prague.

Manchester United will face Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid among their headline fixtures, alongside Roma, Sporting CP, RB Leipzig, Villarreal, Sabah and Como. Liverpool, meanwhile, will meet Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan, as well as Porto, Club Brugge, Villarreal, Fenerbahce, Lens and LASK.

The competition retains its 36-team league-phase format, with every club playing eight matches against eight different opponents—four at home and four away. The top eight automatically progress to the last 16, while teams finishing 9th to 24th enter a two-legged play-off for the remaining knockout places.

The league phase begins between 8 and 10 September 2026, with the final matchday scheduled for January 27, 2027. The Champions League final will be played at Madrid’s Metropolitano Stadium on June 5, 2027.
