According to the COC, the need to allow amateur players to participate in the spectacle became necessary due to the continuous expansion of the tournament, stating that the inclusion of the amateur players would deepen the tournament and expose all talented Bayelsa youths.

It notes with confidence that with the progress of the spectacle, the Prosperity Cup soon would be the feeder team to all the cadet national teams in the country, describing the tournament as the best thing that has happened to football in Nigeria.

"Already, Prosperity Cup has become a feeder tournament to Bayelsa United and other pro-league teams in the South-South, which is highly commendable," he added.

Diseye Nwankwe lauded the governor, Senator Douye Diri, and his deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, as well as the Ministry of Sports for the unwavering support they have given to the development of sports, which includes the advancement of the Prosperity Cup, pointing out that the governor's unparalleled love for sports has ensured Bayelsa youths are engaged positively.

He urged corporate bodies and good-spirited Nigerians in and around the state to support this tournament, which has impacted positively on the youths of the state by engaging them constructively, helping to curb cultism, crime, and other social vices.
