President Federation Cup: Asaba Set for Football Spectacle as Delta Confirms Readiness

Delta State has reaffirmed its readiness to host the 2026 President Federation Cup finals, with the Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, Onoriode Oborevwori, expressing confidence that football fans and stakeholders will enjoy a world-class event at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.

Oborevwori said the state had concluded all necessary preparations for Saturday's finals, noting that Asaba had earned a reputation as one of Nigeria's foremost destinations for major sporting events.

He said the Stephen Keshi Stadium boasts a rich history of hosting high-profile competitions, including the National Sports Festival, National Youth Games, Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 8, previous President Federation Cup finals, and several other national championships.

According to him, Delta State remains committed to maintaining the high standards for which it has become known in hosting sporting events.

"We are fully prepared to welcome football stakeholders from across the country and provide a memorable experience. We are confident that this year's President Federation Cup finals will rank among the best organised in recent times," Oborevwori said.

The Stephen Keshi Stadium will stage both the men's and women's finals on Saturday, July 11.

In the men's final, Ikorodu City FC will take on El-Kanemi Warriors, while Heartland Queens will face Nasarawa Amazons in the women's final.

The double-header is expected to attract football enthusiasts, administrators, and dignitaries from across the country as Nigeria's oldest domestic football competition reaches its climax.

With preparations complete and anticipation building, Delta State is aiming to deliver another successful edition of the President Federation Cup finals, reinforcing its reputation as one of Nigeria's leading hosts of major sporting events.
