Some Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clubs are now at risk of sanctions for fielding ineligible players in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Match Day 10.
Some of the clubs were allegedly reported to have defied the orders of the league body and the NFF Players Status and Arbitration Committee (PSAC) not to field any newly registered players from Match Day 10 of the current season until they clear all their overdue payables as mandated by the Arbitration Committee.

It was, however, reported that the affected clubs have been queried by the NFF PSAC for fielding ineligible players whose licenses were withdrawn by the NPFL.
It will be recalled that the COO of the NPFL, Davidson Owumi, wrote to debtor clubs in a letter dated October 24, 2024, who had failed to comply with the payment order issued by the NFF PSAC, notifying them of the indefinite suspension of licenses for newly registered players effective from Match Day 10.
