Portugal maintained their perfect start to the UEFA Nations League with a 4-2 victory over Denmark, while Jürgen Klopp celebrated his first win as Germany coach with a 2-0 success against Serbia.
Portugal's victory in Copenhagen came amid the controversy surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo, who left the national-team camp on Wednesday after being told he would not start against Denmark. Despite his absence, Jorge Jesus' side produced an attacking display and secured their third consecutive Group A4 victory.
João Cancelo opened the scoring after combining with Gonçalo Ramos, who then added Portugal's second goal. Denmark responded through Mikkel Damsgaard and Rasmus Højlund, but Portugal regained control when Vitinha headed in a Bruno Fernandes delivery before João Félix completed the scoring.
The result leaves Portugal top of their group with nine points from three matches. Denmark, meanwhile, were unable to build on their previous result as the visitors extended their perfect record in the competition.
In Munich, Klopp secured his first victory in charge of Germany at the third attempt. Tom Bischof broke the deadlock in the first half before Florian Wirtz doubled the advantage after the interval, giving Germany a 2-0 win over Serbia.
Klopp had begun his tenure with a 1-1 draw against the Netherlands before Germany suffered a 1-0 defeat to Greece. The victory over Serbia provided the former Liverpool manager with his first three points since taking charge of the national team.
Elsewhere, the Netherlands fought back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Greece. Greece had built a two-goal lead before Virgil van Dijk and Tijjani Reijnders scored to rescue a point for the Dutch side.
Wales also claimed a 2-1 comeback victory over Norway, while Ireland surrendered a two-goal advantage in a 2-2 draw against Austria. Troy Parrott scored twice for Ireland, but second-half goals from Alexander Prass and Michael Gregoritsch earned Austria a share of the points.
The Ireland-Austria match was briefly interrupted twice during the first half after protesters threw tennis balls onto the pitch and a spectator entered the field carrying what appeared to be a Palestinian flag.
