Plateau State to host Nigeria's Football Veterans' competition

The Veterans Football Foundation 2024 North Central qualifiers, scheduled to take place in Jos, Plateau State, promises to be an exciting event, bringing together 7 teams from the North Central Zone. These teams include representatives from Plateau, Kwara, Kogi, Benue, Niger, Nasarawa, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). It's anticipated to be a fiercely competitive tournament, with each team vying for the opportunity to advance to the national stage.


This one-day tournament will showcase the talents of Nigerian football legends from Plateau and beyond. Among the star-studded lineup are iconic players like Kadi Tijjani Zololo, Batura Sale, Sambo Choji, Isyaka Haliru, Thomas Okoja, and Sani Adamu (MON), along with many others. Their presence adds a nostalgic and prestigious dimension to the event, drawing fans from far and wide to witness their prowess once again on the field.


On the opposing side, the competing teams will field formidable lineups of their own. Players like Dominic Iorfa, Nasiru Jibrin, Moses Kpako, Salisu Basira, Kelly Ayuba, and others will be ready to showcase their skills and compete at the highest level. The clash of these football titans promises thrilling encounters and intense competition throughout the tournament.


Preparations for the event are in full swing, with teams scheduled to arrive on Friday, May 10, 2024. The highly anticipated draws will be conducted at the prestigious Ndakai Luxury Hotel, located opposite St. Murumba College, on Zaria Road, Jos, at 6:00 pm. This draw will set the stage for the matches and determine the matchups for the following day's action.


The tournament itself will kick off bright and early on Saturday, May 11, at 7:00 am, at the Zaria Road Stadium in Jos. Football enthusiasts and supporters alike will flock to the stadium to witness the spectacle unfold.
