2026/2027 Euro-Match NPFL Matchday 4: Pillars Face Doma United Test as Leaders Seek Fourth Straight Win

Kano Pillars will attempt to bring Doma United’s impressive start to the 2026/27 Euro-Match Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season to an end when both sides meet on Sunday.

The Matchday Four encounter at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano pits the early league leaders against a Pillars side eager to strengthen its position on the table.

Doma United have made a perfect return to the top flight, winning all three of their opening matches to collect nine points and establish themselves at the summit.

The Savannah Tigers have also maintained a clean sheet throughout their campaign, scoring five goals without conceding.

Coach Deji Ayeni’s men began with a 2-0 victory over Sporting Lagos before edging Inter Lagos 1-0 and recording another 2-0 triumph over former champions Enyimba in their most recent outing.

Their impressive run has made the newly promoted Gombe side the early pace-setters, but they face a different challenge in Kano against a Pillars team unbeaten in its two matches.

Kano Pillars have four points from their opening fixtures, following a 2-2 draw away to Kwara United and a 3-2 home victory over Niger Tornadoes.

Coach Daniel Ogunmodede’s side will be banking on home support and their attacking display against Tornadoes to provide the spark needed to halt Doma United’s momentum.

For Doma United, victory would preserve their perfect start and strengthen their position at the top of the standings, while Pillars have the opportunity to reduce the gap with a positive result.

The encounter promises an intriguing battle between Doma United’s disciplined defence and Kano Pillars’ determination to make their home advantage count.
