Day Two of the 2025 Nigeria Amputee Football Championship delivered thrilling action, headlined by a stunning hat-trick from Michael Joel of Phoenix FC, who inspired his team to a dominant 4–0 victory over Niger State FC in Lagos.

Joel opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with a calm finish before Greema Mohammed extended Phoenix’s lead in the 32nd minute. The in-form striker then struck twice more, in the 37th and 45th minutes, to complete a memorable hat-trick and secure an emphatic opening win for the Lagos-based side. His clinical performance drew comparisons to Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, earning him widespread praise from fans and teammates alike.

In the day’s second fixture, Plateau State FC bounced back from their opening-day loss to Kano Pillars with an impressive 3–0 win over Kaduna State FC. Goals from John Hyacinth, Idris Sulaiman, and Abdullahi Mohammed sealed a convincing victory, showcasing the team’s attacking flair and renewed determination to stay in contention.

Phoenix FC later returned to the field for their second match of the day, narrowly defeating Abba Gida Gida FC of Kano 1–0 to book their place in the semi-finals. Their strong form and tactical discipline have made them one of the tournament’s top contenders.

With the group stage now completed, the semi-final fixtures have been confirmed:

  • Kano Pillars vs Niger State FC – 12:30 p.m.
  • Phoenix FC vs Plateau State FC – 1:30 p.m.
