Paul Onuachu Eyes First Goal Against League Leaders Galatasaray in Massive Süper Lig Clash

Trabzonspor forward Paul Onuachu is shifting his focus toward a personal milestone when his side faces Galatasaray this Saturday. The Nigerian international has enjoyed a prolific season in the Turkish Süper Lig but has yet to score against the current league leaders. This weekend’s fixture at Papara Park offers the towering striker a chance to fix that record.

Onuachu has been the standout performer in the Turkish top flight this season. He currently leads the goalscoring charts with 21 goals and two assists in just 24 appearances. His clinical form has seen him outshine other star names in the league; these include Victor Osimhen, Mauro Icardi, and Anderson Talisca.

Despite his dominance, Galatasaray remain one of the few teams to have successfully nullified his threat. The reverse fixture earlier this season ended in a hard-fought goalless draw at Rams Park. Onuachu was unable to find a breakthrough during that match; it stands as a rare occasion where he was kept quiet by an opposing defense.

The 31-year-old striker has a remarkable record of scoring against almost every team he has faced multiple times in Turkey. Statistical records show that only Adana Demirspor and Eyüpspor have kept him off the scoresheet in more than one meeting. If he fails to score this Saturday, Galatasaray will join that exclusive list of clubs.

Trabzonspor coach Fatih Tekke is reportedly banking on Onuachu to lead the line effectively in this title-influencing showdown. The "Black Sea Storm" currently sit in third place with 51 points. They are trailing a Galatasaray side that has been nearly perfect; the visitors boast 20 wins and only two defeats from 26 matches.

Galatasaray will be missing Victor Osimhen due to an injury sustained during European competition. This absence might shift the tactical balance of the game. Onuachu will be eager to exploit any defensive gaps to help Trabzonspor secure a vital home win.
