Pat Ayegba Backs Super Falcons to Win Historic 11th WAFCON Title

The Chief Executive Officer of HerGame Foundation, Dr. Pat Ajuma Ayegba, has expressed strong confidence in the Super Falcons as they continue their campaign at the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, backing the team to secure a record-extending 11th continental title.

Ayegba described the Super Falcons as a symbol of excellence and an inspiration to millions of young girls across Nigeria. She praised the team's remarkable achievements over the years, saying they have continued to raise the standard of women's football across Africa through their resilience, consistency and winning mentality.

"The Super Falcons are more than champions; they are role models. Every time they step onto the pitch, they inspire countless girls to believe in their dreams, embrace hard work and pursue football with confidence," she said.

She added that the team's sustained success has demonstrated that Nigerian women can compete and excel at the highest level of international football, making them ambassadors for both the country and women's sports.

Ayegba also highlighted the work of the HerGame Foundation, noting that the organisation remains committed to discovering, developing and empowering the next generation of female footballers. According to her, the accomplishments of the Super Falcons continue to strengthen the foundation's mission of creating opportunities for girls through football, education and mentorship.

In addition to leading the HerGame Foundation, Ayegba serves as a Board Member of the Federal Capital Territory Football Association (FCT FA) and Chairperson of its Women's Football Committee. Through these roles, she has remained actively involved in promoting women's football and expanding opportunities for female athletes across Nigeria.

The sports administrator urged the players to approach the remainder of the tournament with unity, determination and confidence. She said the squad possesses the quality, experience and character required to successfully defend their continental crown despite the challenges of the competition.

"We are proud of you, and the entire nation stands firmly behind you. Go out there, give your best, make history once again and continue inspiring the next generation of Nigerian girls to dream without limits. We believe you can bring home our record-extending 11th WAFCON title," Ayegba stated.

The Super Falcons entered the tournament as one of the favourites to lift the trophy once again. Their quest for another African title also carries added importance, with qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup available through the latter stages of the competition.

Nigeria remain the most successful nation in WAFCON history and will be aiming to reinforce that legacy with another championship triumph in Morocco.
