Paris FC are entering a new phase of their ambitious project under English coach Liam Rosenior, with the club aiming to build on their successful return to Ligue 1 and eventually compete near the top of French football. The club, backed by the Arnault family and Red Bull, finished 11th last season after securing promotion and are now looking to take another step forward.

The appointment of Rosenior represents a significant change in direction. The 42-year-old has returned to France after a brief and difficult spell at Chelsea, where he was dismissed in April following a run of disappointing results. Rosenior has signed a contract with Paris FC through June 2028, replacing Antoine Kombouaré. Kombouaré took over during last season and successfully guided the newly promoted side away from relegation danger before they secured an 11th-place finish.

Since the Arnault family acquired a controlling stake in Paris FC in 2024, the project has been built around steady growth rather than attempting to achieve instant success. The club's owners have also maintained a partnership with Red Bull as they look to develop Paris FC into a major force in French football.

Paris FC's rise has added another dimension to the capital's football landscape. Paris Saint-Germain have dominated Ligue 1 for years, but Paris FC's arrival in the top division has created a second major club in the city capable of attracting attention and investment.

Rosenior believes the project offers enormous potential and has returned to France determined to apply the lessons learned during his short experience at Stamford Bridge. His time at Chelsea ended after just three months, but the coach has said the experience provided valuable lessons that he hopes will benefit his work in Paris.

The Englishman's immediate task is to establish consistency and continue developing a squad that combines experienced players with promising young talent. Paris FC have also been active in the transfer market, investing heavily as they seek to move closer to the upper reaches of Ligue 1.

Rosenior's first competitive challenge comes away to Troyes, as Paris FC begin their latest chapter with expectations considerably higher than they were when the club returned to France's top flight. The objective is to progress carefully while refusing to put a ceiling on how far the project can ultimately go.
