The organisers of the 4th edition of the annual Gusau/Ahlan Pre-Season Football Tournament have confirmed that over sixteen top-tier clubs from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Nigeria National League (NNL), and the Nationwide League One (NLO) will participate in the 2025 edition.
According to the Head of Competition, the Nigerian football community can expect an electrifying pre-season tournament as teams gear up for the new campaign.
The highly anticipated event promises a thrilling spectacle, showcasing both emerging talents and seasoned stars. The Gusau/Ahlan Pre-Season Tournament serves as a platform for teams to fine-tune their strategies, build team cohesion, and gain valuable match experience ahead of the new league season.

“All things being equal, we will ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for players, officials, and fans through meticulous planning and execution.

This year’s edition will feature defending champions Lobi Stars FC (Makurdi) and host club Nasarawa United FC (Lafia). Other participating clubs include:
The pre-season tournament is set to kick off on Friday, August 1, and will run for two weeks at the Lafia City Stadium in Nasarawa State.
This 4th edition will also feature attractive prize money and individual awards for outstanding performances, aiming to inspire teams to perform at their best from the group stage to the knockout rounds.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Premier Football League has already released the matchday one fixtures for the 2025/26 season, which is scheduled to commence on Friday, August 22, 2025, across various venues.
