Osimhen Fires Galatasaray to Record 26th Super Lig Title with Dramatic Brace

Posted : 11 May 2026

Victor Osimhen cemented his status as a Galatasaray legend by leading the club to their 26th Turkish Super Lig title. The Super Eagles forward scored a vital brace in a -2 comeback victory over Antalyaspor at the Rams Park on Saturday. This win ensures the Istanbul giants remain the dominant force in Turkish football with their fourth league crown in a row.

The match was filled with tension as Galatasaray sought to bounce back from a shock loss to Samsunspor last week. Antalyaspor threatened to spoil the party when Soner Dikmen scored in first-half stoppage time. Although Mario Lemina equalized early in the second half, Dikmen struck again with a brilliant free-kick to put the visitors ahead.

Osimhen took control of the game when his team needed him most. He won a penalty after being fouled in the box and clinically converted it to level the score. In the 88th minute, the Nigerian striker found the net again to put Galatasaray ahead for the first time. Kaan Ayhan added a fourth goal late in the game to confirm the championship.

Speaking after the trophy presentation, Osimhen praised his teammates for their resilience under pressure. He noted that the team always finds a way to overcome difficulties because of their winning culture. He also showed respect to Antalyaspor for providing a stern challenge throughout the ninety minutes. The striker emphasized that the squad now intends to celebrate their hard-earned double success.

The 27-year-old forward has been in sensational form, netting 22 goals across all competitions this season. His total tally for the club now stands at 59 goals over two highly successful campaigns. Despite his heroics, speculation regarding a summer move to clubs like Arsenal or Manchester United continues to grow.

Osimhen will miss the final game of the season against Kasimpasa due to a yellow card suspension. He leaves the season on a high note, having secured both the league and cup titles this year. Fans are now waiting to see if the prolific goalscorer will remain in Turkey or seek a new challenge in a different European league.
