Super Eagles players enjoyed an eventful weekend across European leagues, with Victor Osimhen and Taiwo Awoniyi among the standout performers for their respective clubs.
Osimhen celebrated the birth of his second daughter by scoring in Galatasaray's 4-0 away victory over Konyaspor in the Turkish Süper Lig. Meanwhile, Awoniyi ended his seven-match goal drought with a strike in Coventry City's 3-1 Premier League win over Sunderland.
Gift Orban also maintained his impressive scoring form for Amedspor, while Umar Sadiq marked his return from injury with a decisive goal for Valencia. However, Kelechi Iheanacho's remarkable 12-match scoring streak came to an end.
Here is a review of Nigerian players' performances from Friday to Sunday.
Turkey
Victor Osimhen (Galatasaray)
Osimhen marked a special family occasion with a goal as Galatasaray defeated Konyaspor 4-0 away from home.
The Nigerian striker opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a powerful header from a free-kick. He played for approximately 60 minutes before being substituted.
The goal took his league tally to nine, placing him alongside compatriot Gift Orban among the Turkish Süper Lig's leading scorers.
Gift Orban (Amedspor)
Orban continued his excellent start to the season with a goal and an assist in Amedspor's 5-1 victory over Eyupspor.
The forward scored in the 35th minute before setting up Samuel Ballet as the hosts established a commanding first-half advantage.
His contribution took his league tally to nine goals and four assists after 10 matchdays, strengthening his position among the division's leading attacking players.
Wilfred Ndidi (Besiktas)
Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi played the full 90 minutes as Besiktas surrendered a two-goal advantage in a 2-2 draw against Kasimpasa.
The midfielder operated in an advanced role and completed 98 per cent of his passes. However, Besiktas could not prevent their opponents from recovering to claim a point.
The result left the Istanbul club fourth in the league standings with 19 points from 10 matches.
Trabzonspor: Chibuike Nwaiwu and Paul Onuachu
Chibuike Nwaiwu helped Trabzonspor secure a 2-0 victory over Gaziantep with an assured defensive display.
The former Enyimba defender partnered Stefan Savic at centre-back, contributing nine recoveries and five clearances while helping his team keep a clean sheet.
Paul Onuachu also returned from injury, playing for more than an hour. The striker recorded two attempts on goal but failed to find the net.
The Nigerian forward has scored twice in eight league appearances this season.
Kelechi Iheanacho (Bursaspor)
Iheanacho's remarkable 12-match scoring streak ended as Bursaspor defeated Bandirmaspor without a goal from the Nigerian striker.
Despite failing to extend his run, the forward remains one of the league's leading scorers with 16 goals and three assists.
England
Taiwo Awoniyi (Coventry City)
Awoniyi ended his seven-match goal drought by scoring his first Premier League goal for Coventry City in their 3-1 victory over Sunderland on Saturday.
The Nigerian striker doubled Coventry's advantage in the 37th minute after dispossessing Luke O'Nien, driving into the penalty area and finishing into the bottom corner.
Tatsuhiro Sakamoto opened the scoring in the 17th minute, while Jack Rudoni added a third in the 52nd minute. Enzo Le Fée converted a penalty for Sunderland.
Awoniyi was substituted in the 72nd minute after an encouraging performance. The victory also moved Coventry out of the relegation zone.
Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey (Fulham)
Iwobi and Bassey featured as Fulham secured a 1-1 draw against Aston Villa at Villa Park.
Iwobi played 75 minutes and contributed to Fulham's equaliser. His corner delivery caused problems for the Villa defence before goalkeeper Zion Suzuki turned the ball into his own net.
Bassey completed the entire match and delivered a steady defensive performance despite receiving a yellow card.
Semi Ajayi (Hull City)
Ajayi played the full 90 minutes as Hull City drew 2-2 with Ipswich Town.
The Nigerian defender contributed six clearances and won 69 per cent of his duels, helping his team secure an away point.
Bright Osayi-Samuel (Birmingham City)
Osayi-Samuel featured for the entire match as Birmingham City defeated Lincoln City in the Championship.
The right-back continued his involvement in the team's campaign, making his 13th league appearance of the season.
Spain
Umar Sadiq (Valencia)
Sadiq marked his return from a seven-week injury absence with a match-winning goal for Valencia against Elche.
The Nigerian striker came off the bench and scored the only goal of the encounter, giving his team three important points.
His return provides an encouraging development ahead of the November international window.
Chidera Ejuke (Sevilla)
Ejuke completed 90 minutes but could not prevent Sevilla from suffering a 3-1 defeat against Getafe.
The winger has continued to feature regularly for the Spanish side, although he has managed just one goal this season.
Ademola Lookman (Atletico Madrid)
Lookman made a brief appearance in Atletico Madrid's 2-0 victory away to Alaves.
The Nigerian forward came off the bench for the final 15 minutes as Atletico extended their unbeaten run to six matches.
He will be looking to increase his contribution in front of goal as the Spanish season progresses.
