The Executive Chairman of the Oluyole Warriors, Honourable Babatunde Olaniyan Akoro, disclosed that this is just the first phase of the unveiling programs they have lined up, with a more comprehensive event planned later at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
He explained that urgent official assignments outside the state necessitated this impromptu arrangement. He further stated that the club aims to improve on last season's performance, which is why they have recruited quality players to complement the efforts of the retained players.
He added that the team has retained most of the best players from last season's squad to ensure continuity. He explained that the club deliberately ensured that coach Gbenga Ogunbote remained with the club for this purpose.
Honourable Olaniyan also revealed that the club would be competing for the league title this season. He mentioned that a few more players are yet to be unveiled as the Ibadan soccer lords intensify their efforts for a successful 2024/25 season.
Coach Gbenga Ogunbote stated that the recruitment was specifically targeted to address problems in certain departments from last season. The coach, popularly known as "Oracle," hinted that the attacking position is still being worked on and hopes it will be fixed in time.
On his part, the General Manager of the club, Dimeji Lawal, expressed confidence that the new additions to the Oluyole Warriors would add quality to the team. He assured the club's followers of a successful season.
